Pressure Containing Fabrication Weld – This type of fabrication weld typically involves full penetration welds that join two tubular elements that will hold pressure over their useful life. These welds require very strict quality performance and exceptional welding capabilities. Most of the pressure-containing fabrication welds performed by W.H.S. are subjected to full volumetric NDE (radiographic and ultrasonic) tests in addition to surface NDE (magnetic particles or liquid penetrating) tests.<\/p>\n
Structural Fabrication Weld – This type of fabrication weld is more general in nature. Almost any weld in which two parts are joined without the need to contain pressure can be considered a structural fabrication weld. The typical application of this type of welding is the construction of skids or frames from structural elements. This type of welding requires extensive adaptation of the components before welding. W.H.S. has several highly experienced fitters who specialize in assembling these structures with very high tolerances to meet stringent design requirements.<\/p>\n
